This course is intended for those who want to have elementary first
aid knowledge and skills with a focus on adults, children or both;
including emergency response teams in business and industry, school
bus drivers, adult residential care personnel, child care workers,
teachers, parents and babysitters.
Learn one-person and two-person CPR for Adults, children and infants. Train with Philips Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) trainers. This course is intended for healthcare providers such a EMTs and Paramedics, physician and assistants, dentists, nurses, respiratory therapists and other who require credential documentation indicating successful completion of a CPR course.
All Bloodborne Pathogen Awareness class contents follow the core
curriculum guidelines of the University of Washington AIDS Education
and Training Center as approved by the state of Washington's
Department of Health and Department of Professional Licensing. This
course satisfies WAC 296-62-08001
The 2-hour course meets state requirements for those who need annual
bloodborne pathogen training, or are foster or adoptive parents, or
provide health care for adults.
The 4-hour course meets state requirements for those who registered
counselors and social workers, pharmacy assistants, veterinarians
and assistants, and massage therapists.
The 7-hour course meets state requirements for those in the health
or medical field such as physicians, nurses, dentists, naturopathic,
radiology and x-ray technicians, heath field students and assistants
and Adult Family Home mangers or providers.
Depending upon class length, topics included in the classes are
Etiology and epidemiology, transmission and infection control,
clinic manifestations and treatment, testing and counseling, legal
and ethical issues, and psychosocial issues including special
populations.
Pre-teens and teens (ages 10-15) learn how to be a GREAT babysitter.
Become confident and prepared to be the best babysitter possible,
safe and in demand.
Hands-on activities and role playing will help you find and prepare
for a babysitting job, Learn how to care for kids of all ages and
deal with difficult situations, how to prepare safe and fun
activities, and how to make safe choices while babysitting. As a
certified babysitter, you will also know basic first aid and how to
stay calm in an emergency.
After successful completion, each student receives a Babysitters
handbook, laminated certification card, business cards and valuable
forms to help develop your client list.
Learn how to provide immediate care to a pet that is suddenly injured or ill. Properly applied pet first aid can help save a pet’s life, reduce the recovery time, and make the difference between permanent and temporary disabilities.
Learn advanced first aid to assist those injured or suffering sudden illness when emergency personnel are unavailable. The 20-hour course will provide techniques for most recreational activities or short term wilderness trips. More advanced courses (60 and 80-hour Wilderness First Responder) can be scheduled for groups of 15 or more.
